Well it is nearly that time of the year again, Santa, presents and of course those long school holidays. Let us at The Rocking Horse Toy Library relieve some of the boredom with our great choice of Toys to suit all ages. We now have a wide range of toys for sale that even Santa can't beat.

The Toy Library, as in previous years, will be closed over the Christmas /New Year period from the 23rd Dec to the16th Jan 2005.
We are again this year having our special offer of 4 weeks hire for the price of 2 weeks over the Christmas break. We are now taking bookings for this period. This will be on a first come basis so if there is something you would like please let us know as early as possible.
As a thank you we are also having a Christmas raffle. Any hire from now until Christmas will get you into the draw.

| Toy Safety |
|
|
The state and federal offices of Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs issue advice and guidance on the purchase of toy, the following information has come from their web sites:
Before you buy your Christmas toys this year remember the five S's: size, shape, surfaces, strings, and supervision
A good general rule: the smaller the child the bigger the toy. Anything smaller than a ping pong ball is too small for a child under three.
There should be no sharp points or edges. Check the packaging to make sure the product is not toxic. This is especially important with painted toys.
Loose lengths of string and chord can choke a child. Anything longer than 30cm (12 inches) is not suitable for a child under three and should be removed.
Check toys periodically for any damage which could cause sharp points. Remove dead batteries as soon as possible.

This year seems to have just flown but as we celebrate the end of another year I would like to wish you and your families a very safe and happy Christmas and many good times in 2005.
Many thanks too to Sheena and Keesha (who will be leaving us at the end of the year to have a baby) for all their help and support.
Once again thank you for your continued support and I will endeavor to keep the library well stocked with new and interesting toys (both for hire and sale) in 2005.
Looking forward to seeing you all then.
Karen
